Phrymaceae
Lopseed family. Eudicots. At one time, these members of Phymaceae were in Scrophulariaceae (the figwort family). Prior to Revision 6 of the Jepson Manual (September 2018), the members of the genera Diplacus and Erythranthe here were in the genus Mimulus.

Diplacus aurantiacus (bush monkeyflower). Rather more surprising to see one these this early. This one was in an especially favored spot. Railroad Grade above the West Point Inn.
