G. buxifolia (Boxleaf silk tassel) or G. fremontii (Fremont's silk tassel). All the silk tassel flowers look pretty much alike. We saw these down on the Canyon Creek Trail too, but there's no guarantee all are the same species. The round things are galls from Asphondylia garryae, the silk tassel gall midge.
