Plant Families - Jim Ringland

The ultimate meeting of the first two themes, and many plants are from the wilds.

I like to explore & understand
I love flowers
I find peace in the wilds

These galleries collect some of the flower and plant pictures from the rest of the site. Organization is by family, the next major level of aggregation above genus, although for the huge composite family (Asteraceae) I've broken things down at least by sub-family and in some cases to the super-tribe level.

Botanical names, including family assignments, follow the Jepson eFlora from the Jepson Herbarium at the University of California, Berkeley. The Jepson eFlora references The Jepson Manual: Vascular Plants of California, Second Edition (2012). The information should be current with Revisions 1 through 6 to the Jepson manual (September 2018). Genera are listed on the Notes & Tools page.
