Delphinium patens (zig zag larkspur). Very nice markings on these.

Delphinium patens (zig zag larkspur). When dealing with Delphiniums, the leaves are as important in identification as the inflorescence.

The turkey vultures were all of the cliffs to the west of flag Hill.

I could have wished for an even higher shutter speed on this one, but this was definitely a case of shoot with the settings available.

The hills just north of Flag Hill. The Flag Hill loop trail is at the left. It dips into the draw and comes up paralleing the bottom on the other side.

Lithophragma affine (San Francisco Woodland-star) under the trees in that draw. Without leaves, I can't totally rule out L. parviflorum but what I see points to L. affine.
