Coming into Divide Meadow.

Urtica dioica ssp. holosericea (hoary nettle). From the long narrow leaves, I'm guessing this is ssp. holosericea rather than ssp. gracilis (California nettle). They are all Urtica dioica -- stinging nettles -- and Bear Valley has a nice crop this year.

Equisetum telmateia ssp. braunii (giant horsetail). Could be E. arvense but the number of teeth on sheath aims me at E. telmateia. Horsetails are hardly rare, but I've never gotten around to adding a picture to the collection.

This little spit has the interesting name of Point Resistance. The main part of the Pt. Reyes peninsula is in the distance.
