Just above Rock Springs. Lots of gray grass plus a few rocks, trees, and patches of fading poison oak. A very bright landscape, but not exactly a colorful one. Hot too. The day topped out at 90.

I hiked from Rock Springs down to Pan Toll, then contouring on the Matt Davis and Coastal Trails.

Stinson Beach, almost 2000 feet below, was well subscribed.

This wrecked relic has been on the Coastal Trail since I first hiked here in the 80's ... and was old then. I've seen it referred to as Mt. Tam's "Ghost Car" -- looks more like a truck to me -- but nobody seems to have details. I'd love to know the story.

Calycadenia multiglandulosa (sticky western rosin weed) near Rock Springs.

There were a few California poppies in the dry grass.

Solidago sp. in a seep along the Coastal Trail. Kind of a scraggly array.

The tip of Pt. Reyes was in the fog. At least it's cool over there.
